    * Beauty and the Beast was the first feature-length animation to produce over $ 100 million to be released first.
    * Beauty and the Beast was not only the first feature-length animated feature to receive an indication of the Academy Award ® for Best Picture and also won the Golden Globe ® for Best Comedy / Musical.
    * Alan Menken was nominated by the Academy of Arts and Sciences 15 times and won 7 awards. Before his death in 1991, Howard Ashman received six Academy Award ® nominations and won two.
    * Three years after the release of the film, Beauty and the Beast came to Broadway. The musical made presentations at 5464 Broadway between 1994 and 2007, becoming the sixth Broadway production was longer in theaters. The play was performed in 13 countries and 115 cities and continues to enthrall audiences around the world. A nationwide tour in the U.S. is scheduled for 2010.
